My role at Tampere University of Technology was to map, study and visualise urbanisation trends in Finland for the URMI project. URMI stands for URbanisation Mobilities and Immigration, was funded by the Academy of Finland and led by the University fo Turku.
My focal point was to track different urban phenomenon using open data and digital traces of human activity patterns. Together with my colleagues, we developed a method to map activities at the national scale and track their evolution not just in Finland but also Sweden and European capital cities.
